COLOR GUARD is a group of students who provide an artistic interpretation of the music through dance and the synchronized spinning of flags, rifles, sabers and other props. Color Guard has been called the “Sport of the Arts” because it is equally athletic and artistic.
In the fall, the color guard participates in all marching band activities including practices, competitions and half-time performances at football games. During marching band competitions, the guard adds to the overall score of the band, but is also judged in its own category.
In the Winter and Spring, the color guard practices and competes independently of the band through a regional indoor/winter guard circuit.

Fraisia is so excited to be joining the SPHS Marching Band for her first Color Guard coaching season! She has a bachelor's degree in Theatre Performance from the University of Missouri and is an alumni of South River High School. As an avid dancer, singer, and actor, she spent several years as an active member of the theatre department in both high school and college. She also was a dedicated member of South River’s color guard all four years of high school. Her favorite marching band shows were rightfully the musical themed ones she was lucky enough to perform in high school including Mamma Mia, Chicago, and Zorro. Fraisia loves to cook, crochet, watch romantic comedy movies, go to concerts, hang out with her dog Coconut and her cat Cannoli, travel, and spend time with her fiancé Sam.
