This is the band and orchestra boosters’ sanctioned online source for band and orchestra information, but please remember that although this calendar will be updated regularly, the official calendar is located on the wall next to Mr. Greco’s desk in the band room.

Severna Park Marching Band
Through mid-November, the marching band will be rehearsing and performing their fall show, as well as performing at “home” football games (this year at Old Mill High School, due to new school construction). Attending each rehearsal is essential for every student, as each one has a unique position and part to perform in the show that can’t be filled by anyone else. Please make sure you refer regularly to the rehearsal schedule and plan such things as vacations and doctors’ appointments around the band’s schedule. Severna Park High School Marching Band

We’ll be hosting a marching band competition at Broadneck High School on November 1st, and this event requires participation and support from every marching band family. There are many jobs available for this event, all of which are essential but also fun. Please plan to attend the booster meetings and find a committee that interests you.

The program would not function without the financial support and commitment of many volunteers, and we need you! One way to help is by volunteering to chaperone. You’ll find a link on this page to sign up to chaperone band rehearsals, and we need a minimum of three chaperones at each rehearsal, and many chaperones for each event during the year.

2012 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC)Another essential aspect of the program is fundraising,. A 501 (c) non-profit organization, the Boosters organization gladly accepts tax-deductible donations. The year kicks off with fund raisers such as the car wash, grocery card sales and sub sales, and you can also designate the Booster program as a recipient of donations through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). If you are a federal government employee, or have friends or relatives who are, please consider marking your CFC donation to SPHS Band and Orchestra Boosters. Any employee working in the Washington DC or Baltimore City, Accomack, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Caroline, Carroll, Cecil, Dorchester, Harford, Howard, Kent, Northampton, Queen Anne’s, Somerset, Talbot, Wicomico, and Worcester counties area will find us in the CFC catalog that will distributed later this fall at your agency.

This marks my eighth and final year as a band mom and member of the SPHS BOB Boosters. Being with the kids is always enjoyable, and every parent who gets involved will tell you of the strong friendships that were built as a result. Without the commitment and involvement of parents, the instrumental music program at the high school would not be able to function as it does. I encourage every parent to actively participate, join the Boosters (you can find the form on the website), and dedicate time by chaperoning, helping with hospitality, coming to the sub sales, working on a committee… the opportunities are endless and there’s something for everyone!
